Pure Silk&Cotton Saris
The yarn used to hand weave the Pure Silk&Cotton sarees is a combination of pure silk and pure cotton, making sarees spun from this material suitable for both warm and cold climates. The rich blend of these two fabrics lends them their characteristic light and airy smoothness. Legend has it that the first saree of this kind was a Gadwal sari, woven as a gift for a Mughal empress.
These saris are available across India, but arguably its most famed producers are weavers in Chanderi and Gadwal. Available in a vast array of colours- from vibrant saffron to deep hued blues- they provide something for every occasion. Their adornments- usually zari work on the borders and pallus- transform the wearer. The comfort of cotton interwoven with the grandeur of silk makes them a wise choice, whether for day time luncheons or dinner parties.
